These two photos were taken seven and a half hours apart, on the same driveway, without the car moving an inch. The left frame is 7:08am — an Audi A7 that had been worked hard and washed rarely. The right frame is 2:36pm the same day.

No shortcuts is easy to say and slow to do. Wheels, arches and door shuts first, while the panels are cool. Snow foam to lift the loose dirt, then a safe two-bucket hand wash so nothing gets dragged across the paint. Decontamination to pull out what washing can’t. The interior gets the full treatment while the exterior dries — and everything is finished with dressed tyres, cleaned glass and a protective layer over the paintwork.
All of it off the van: pure filtered water, our own power, every product on board. The owner handed over keys in the morning and got back a different-looking car after lunch.
